Currently, are seeking a qualified full-time Maintenance Technician I/II to join our team! This role will be responsible for supporting the Maintenance Department in keeping the physical plan functioning to meet production needs.

About this Position:

Summary:  Under supervision and direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, this role will be responsible for supporting the Maintenance Department in keeping the physical plan functioning to meet production needs.

Schedule: Regular hours will be 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, five consecutive days a week; workdays will be assigned at time of hire. Potential overtime may occur outside of regular hours and workdays.

Starting Pay: $26.00 to $30.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and skill level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Notifies Maintenance Supervisor/Department Supervisor of any malfunctions, repairs, and other mechanical concerns, to include fire prevention; fuel handling; press lines; spreader lines; glue lines; saw lines; patch lines; and sander machine.
  • Makes repairs and performs maintenance duties, as assigned per job level (I or II), including clean-up and minor electrical and welding tasks, using a table saw, hand and power tools.
  • Reports any downtime immediately to Department Supervisor/Maintenance Supervisor. Obtains prior authorization before making any repairs and adjustments.
  • Inspects equipment and machinery for safety issues; escalates concerns to management, as appropriate.
  • Works cooperatively on a team.
  • Promotes and demonstrates safe work habits, including Lock-Out Tag-Out; wears assigned PPE, including safety glasses, earplugs, gloves and dust mask, appropriate to the task.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills Needed:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following qualifications and demonstrated skills:

  • Professional training courses related to building and/or machinery maintenance desirable.
  • Minimum of one year working in a mechanic-oriented position; manufacturing plant (production; material handling) is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to successfully complete forklift and bobcat training for certification.
  • Preferred, but not required: Proficient in the basics of MS Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook); prior experience in using maintenance project tracking software is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand basic blueprints, instruction, parts and safety manuals, written directions, posted policies and bulletins.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to identify safety concerns on equipment and machinery to appropriately escalate matters to management; ability to follow all standard work procedures in a safe manner and promote the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to take supervisory direction and work cooperatively with co-workers in and across departments.
  • Ability to maintain work productively with multiple priorities, interruptions, and varying levels of workload.
  • Ability to effectively and timely communicate status reports and request assistance or resources, as needed, to supervisor.
  • Ability to be flexible in work performed and scheduled; ability to work non-standard hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Preferred, but not required: prior Electrical and Welding experience is a plus.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

The employee will be working near dust, fumes, loud machinery, and mechanical equipment. The work environment may vary from cold to hot, depending on the season. The employee will be walking standing and engaging in movement throughout the day, occasionally to frequently required to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. Due to the variety of job duties, physical activities may include bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, standing and walking for long periods, climbing ladders, working in enclosed spaces and operating forklifts or bobcats. The employee will be required to wear PPE appropriate to the task.

Now hiring a full-time Building Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role will be responsible for supporting the Maintenance Department in keeping the physical plant functioning to meet production needs.

About this Position:

Summary:  Constructs, erects, installs, and repairs structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, conforming to local building codes.

Schedule: Regular hours will be 6:30 am to 3:00 pm, five consecutive days a week; workdays will be assigned at time of hire. Potential overtime may occur outside of regular hours and workdays.

Starting Pay: $28.00 per hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Repairs and performs maintenance duties for mill facility performs general carpentry, such as construction, installation and repair of wood fixtures and structures like partitions, stairs, and cabinetry; lays flooring and concrete; attends to minor electrical and welding tasks; and performs clean-up and landscaping duties
  • Inspects equipment and structures for safety issues, to include fuel handling and fire prevention; escalates concerns to management and reports equipment downtime immediately. Obtains prior authorization before making any repairs or adjustments.
  • Works cooperatively within and across department teams.
  • Promotes and demonstrates safe work habits; wears assigned PPE, including safety glasses, earplugs, gloves, and dust mask.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills Needed:

  • Minimum of one year of recent maintenance and repair experience at a commercial building; manufacturing/wood products facility experience strongly preferred. Related training courses in facilities/plant maintenance duties are a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, instruction, parts and safety manuals, written directions, posted policies and bulletins; ability to perform basic math functions to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret graphs.
  • Ability to identify safety concerns on equipment/machinery and appropriately escalate matters to management; ability to use and promote the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Proficient in using welding, cutting and power tools. Forklift experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team. Requires flexibility in accepting work assignments and a non-standard schedule, such as weekend and holiday hours, as needed.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

The employee will be working near loud machines and mechanical equipment in an environment that can vary in temperature, depending on the season. The position requires continuous walking, standing, and engaging in movement throughout the day, which may include bending, lifting, stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms above shoulders and head, climbing ladders, working in enclosed spaces and working outdoors. Lift up to 50 lbs. on an occasional-to-frequent basis. Personal Protective Equipment required.

About this Position:

Schedule: Swing Shift: Monday-Friday 2:00pm to 10:30pm. Potential Overtime, including Saturdays.

Starting Pay: $19.50

Summary: Matches the face/back of skins per customer order as part of the production process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Slides and flips wide and long veneer panels to position for inspection and repair.
  • Inspects the face and back of skins of specified wood type/species, per the customer order, and determines, by appearance, the appropriate pairing of panels.
  • Makes necessary repairs for imperfections/defects/discolorations.
  • Confirms the order is complete per the customer’s specifications and prints/attaches tickets to the finished customer order.
  • Positions loaded rolling cars by pulling or pushing for forklift access for changeovers.
  • Sweeps work area to keep clear for rolling cars.

Other duties may be assigned. Cross training is essential to maintain productivity on this team.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to learn wood grains and species (we will train).
  • Ability to closely inspect wood panels and identify imperfections, discoloration, and any other defects (we will train).
  • Ability to read customer tickets and company rules and policies and safety guidelines in English.
  • Ability to slide and flip large (50” x 99”) veneer skins on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand for duration of work shift (8 to 10 hours)
  • Ability to work cooperatively and productively as part of a team.
  • Ability to wear safety equipment (PPE) and follow all safety guidelines.
  • Be available and willing to work overtime.
